Building Community: a head of school’s perspective within the college system
‘Community’ is very pertinent to every head of school’s agenda if schools are ‘Learning Communities’ that educate for life How can committed Catholics lead to facilitate community at all levels, be it on a personal level, at school level, within the college system as well as within the community at large, notwithstanding the challenges involved? The paper proposes to share strategies backed by the gospel and current educational literature that aim to achieve this. The personal experiences shared, by the author who is an active member of the Focolare Movement, are those made within the present college system, namely at the school and college that the author works in.
